Love doesn’t belong exclusively to the young, nor does it have to be celebrated in front of crowds. The feelings, emotions and meaning of marriage are just as valid for the small wedding where some of the guests comprise the grown up children and small grandchildren of the bride and groom, as they are for those who hope to one day have them! So it was with great delight that I drove off to Lancashire to one of the prettiest places in England I have come across, to photograph the wedding of photographer Richard and his lovely bride Christine.
As soon as I stepped over the doorway of The Inn at Whitewell, I knew I was in a really special place. Tucked away on its own in truly glorious landscape, it was a truly welcoming place, made even better by the fire roaring away in the entrance hall, inviting you to sit and rest after any long journey, be that by car or foot.
I know Richard from training days at Aspire Photography Training, and had been delighted to hear that he had met and fallen in love with someone truly special – so it was wonderful to finally meet Christine and know straight away that she really was as lovely as Richard had described her!
The ceremony was small, with only the couple’s immediate families and closest friends – but the laughter, love and tenderness was immediately evident. A beautiful, lovely afternoon – and I wish Richard and Christine many many years of happiness to come.
