Ant and Stacey went to Mexico to get married! And then they came home and did it all again for the benefit of their friends and family! That meant it was a totally relaxed day – with the groom popping in and out of the bridal prep room, pouring his gorgeous wife and her lovely bridesmaids champagne. It was slightly early in the year, that time when you’re never quite sure if it will be sunny or rainy – but again, no stress – the couple had had sunshine aplenty on their Mexican wedding day, so here at the very lovely Ivy House Country Hotel, they were happy to have rain or sun.
Bridal prep was in full swing when I arrived, with hairdressers and make-up artist in full swing. Stacey’s beautiful wedding dress was waiting, and I have to say, what a wonderful way to make sure you get to enjoy your dress for more than 1 day.
The reception marquee was looking splendid. Ant & Stacey had decorated it exquisitely, and every decoration, from the Mexican prop table, to the gorgeous wedding cake and wonderful flowers had been chosen with care and attention to detail.
A brilliant surprise for the wedding guests was sound of a trumpet – which heralded in a fabulous Mexican quartet. It was such fun and everyone loved it. Along with a harpist and a dance band, all musical tastes were catered for.
Well, we ended up with a little rain, and some sunshine, and then in the early evening, that wonderful Golden Hour light that we dream of at weddings. Perfection – a truly lovely, extremely relaxed day, and thank you Ant & Stacey for having me there.
